Back in Virginia

We finally made it to Virginia! We left early Thursday morning last week and the drive was going great until we hit a storm that we ended up driving through for about 6 hours. We made our stop for the day in Lexington,  Kentucky to visit with one of my husband's friends. It was nice to make it that far because it left us with only about 9 hours of driving time for Friday. West Virginia used to be one of our favorite states to drive through, but apparently my kids do not agree. Mila gets car sick easily and last summer she threw up while driving up and down the winding roads. This time she had no problems, but Annabelle ended up throwing up 3 times. I think it was the combination of the roads and the new car that sits much lower than our old Expedition. Overall though, the girls did great. They were able to entertain themselves, which was good since we didn't really fuss over car activities. I packed lots of coloring books, notebooks and crayons, and they had some toys with them in the back that wouldn't fit in the trunk. Annabelle spent hours just flipping through a blank notebook, which really was amazing. I figured she'd scribble all over it, but I like to think she imagined it was a book that she was reading quietly to herself.

My husband went back to Oklahoma Tuesday morning and this whole experience has just been so overwhelming. The biggest thing is being back in this area. I remember when we first moved to Oklahoma (8 years ago!) it was a bit of a culture shock. I never thought I would move back to this area and feel out of place. I'm excited to be out of Oklahoma though and to move forward.

Just a few pics from our trip.

This picture is somewhere either Missouri or Kentucky. There were quite a bit of semis on this highway and passing them on this bridge was terrifying.

Right before waking them up for Day Two
My wonderful mom made this for me.

P.S. Some new items are coming up in the shop! The move has slowed things down a bit, but it is coming along!
