Upcycled Finds

I love finding new uses for old things (like the fabric in the heart hoop I made), and sometimes I get pretty bad about hanging on to stuff I just can't quite throw out - like cracker boxers turned into notebooks (future post probably?), baby food jars and whiskey bottles for holding little supplies, and so many little toys for the girls (or cats) made out of plastic food containers, paper, string, ribbon, etc. If I didn't live in such a small apartment, I would probably have stashes of what just looked like junk hidden everywhere. This week, I'm going beyond my cardboard/trash creations and have some really great upcycled finds to show you!

Guatemalan Coffee Sack Purse from Handmade AbbaLayne
I love the design of this bag and the size is perfect. As a mom, I like that I could just throw a few diapers in here along with my embroidery stuff, and it wouldn't look like I was carrying around a diaper bag.

Upcycled Pet Bed from Atomic Attic
This shop is full of awesome upcycled and vintage finds, and I thought this bed was so much more attractive than my current cat tower. And I really love the calico model.

Scalloped Garland from Peony and Thistle
I think bunting is cute, but most don't really catch my eye like this one did. It's so sweet and I could see it hanging in any room in my home.

Vintage Lamp Clock from It's a Lamp
I have such bad lighting in my apartment so I'm always looking for cool lamps. And I don't think it gets any cooler than the ones in this shop. This clock is my favorite.

Wine Bottle Bangles from Dessin Creations
I love this shade of green and I like how simple these bangles are. I never knew you could make something so pretty from a wine bottle!

Aren't those great? And they're much more impressive than anything I've ever made. What have you upcycled lately?
